The sharing component of Morning Meeting gives students the opportunity to share news or information about themselves, which helps them learn more about one another, practice communication skills, and build a classroom culture of friendliness and thoughtfulness.
You Like That Animal? Me, Too! is an around-the-circle sharing activity that helps students get to know each other and establish personal connections. It can be adapted to include academic topics or revisit a lesson: “What did you find most interesting about the book we read yesterday?” or “What did you find most challenging about the math activity?”

Helpful Tip: Reassure students that they will have a chance to talk more with others who like the same animals as they do. Ask them when would be a good time to chat more and offer suggestions, such as recess or lunchtime.
