Becoming a Certified Responsive Classroom Consulting Teacher*

Group 10161

Start with learning and implementing the Responsive Classroom approach by successfully completing the Responsive Classroom core and advanced courses.

Complete an application form along with an application fee of $200.

Enter Phase 1: The Responsive Classroom Educator Certification Program.

  • This phase allows us to determine that you have a solid knowledge base of the Responsive Classroom approach; you use the approach with fidelity and understand how best to implement the practices and strategies with students.
  • You will be assigned a certified Responsive Classroom coach to assist you in completing and submitting the required assignments.
  • Assignments include a lesson plan, a video reflection, and essays.

Enter Phase 2: The Responsive Classroom Presenter’s Seminar.

  • In this phase, you learn best practices for communicating and working with adult learners and how to use instructor guidelines to teach the Responsive Classroom core courses.
  • Presenter’s Seminar is divided into three parts and includes independent study, Zoom workshops, and in-person gatherings.

*Several factors influence the timeline for completing these two phases, and the timeline will be determined shortly after submitting your application form and fee.
