Our one-day workshops are opportunities for educators to learn Responsive Classroom teaching and discipline practices in an interactive, informative, and supportive environment.

We offer training for teachers at level of experience, from those looking for an introduction to the Responsive Classroom approach to those looking to deepen their learning after completing a course. We also offer seminars for school leaders.

Middle School Advanced Course

Continue to learn and reflect on strategies and practices that further connect you with your students. The Middle School Advanced Course is designed to build on the teaching strategies and practices you learned in the Responsive Classroom Middle School Core Course and currently use in your classroom. In addition to expanding and strengthening your current knowledge of middle school Responsive Classroom practices, you will be introduced to new methods and strategies for supporting your students’ social, emotional, and academic needs, which you will have the opportunity to unpack and connect to your current approach.

Bring transformative social-emotional learning practices into your middle school classroom. Responsive Classroom is an evidence-based approach to teaching that’s deeply rooted in social-emotional learning and focused on engaging academics, positive community, effective management, and developmental awareness. In this interactive and engaging four-day course, you’ll learn how to design and implement a middle school experience that’s responsive to the developmental strengths and needs of young adolescents—while helping your students develop the academic and social skills they need to be successful.

How do I register for an upcoming course or workshop?

Click here to register for a one-day workshop. Click here to register for four-day courses. (Request a consultation with an educational partnership consultant about bringing Responsive Classroom professional development directly to your school or district.)

What if I have to cancel my registration?

If you cannot attend an event, contact us as soon as possible at 413-667-4791 or email [email protected]. Failure to notify us that you will not attend an event will result in forfeiture of your registration fees. See the full cancellation policy here.

Will I receive a certificate?

Certificates of attendance are emailed to participants after the event is completed. A 6-hour certificate of attendance is awarded to one-day workshop participants. A 28-hour certificate of attendance is awarded to four-day course participants. A 3-hour certificate is awarded to Leadership Seminar participants.

Will I receive any discounts on resources?

Participants receive a 20% discount code to use in the Responsive Classroom online bookstore.

Can my school host a summer event?

Advertised Institutes are training events that are open to the public. We oversee the event planning and registration process, and you provide the venue. To learn more about hosting and to apply, see our Host School Application.
